Having had recent dealings in a work place situation with ACC I can state with some conviction that it does not matter if you get money as a gift/loan/personal compensation/sick pay while claiming an ACC compensation payment. As long as your employer is not paying you "wages" then there is nothing to say you can not accept money for other reasons.
