my main point is i saw a heap of bikes crashing out cause they didnt have suitable tyres on, to me thats not fair if another rider was taken out due to this. Its like scrutineering, they dont let you ride with a loose steering head for instance cause it may cause you to crash but not half as much as slicks would on a wet track....
and just because they dont make a suitable tyre for a bike to suit conditions its not a valid argument imo when it comes to something like riders safty, if its not safe dont ride it....
Its not something i can ever see getting changed in the rulebooks id just think people should take it upon themselves to make sure your not making your racing more dangerous then it should be. Over the weekend i helped out a couple of guys with my old wet tyres and a couple more with just suggestion that its not worth the risk. Even the guy in the shed next to me, i told him to put his wets on but he didnt and he crashed first lap, so straight after practice i let him use all my gear so he could get them on asap
