No, never taken it up before & dont plan too.
Not anymore as I gave up
Yes but thinking about giving up
Yes but thinking about giving up due to health reasons
I gave up for 9 months 3 yrs ago. Ienjoy smoking but it is a dreadful habit and I will stop again once I'm determined to. Next time for ever!
i smoked for far too long
gave up 1 year, 2 months and 2 days ago, my wife gave up 6 weeks later

Smoked a pack of 25 a day for 17 years, Loved every minute of it.
Gave up a couple of year ago, No idea about specifics, Didn't take note of the date,Couldn't justify the cost, which some weeks was near $100.
Found it pretty easy, Decided not to smoke, stuck by that decision. Just ride out the cravings and they mellow away to fuck all. Still get them, easily ignored.
Luckily I managed to not become the typical nazi ex-smoker, Fuckers imo get on a high horse because they can't handle not smoking, They should just smoke and STFU, no one needs that shit.
Smoked a few ciggies at parties over the years... just to get the nicotine buzz and the dizziness. When I started smoking too often the effect started to wear out and since they didn't do anything else for me besides impacting negatively on my fitness it wasn't hard to just stop.
Since then I have probably smoked no more than 2 or 3 "proper" cigarettes and can't see why I would ever want to.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

I gave up just the once...........9th Feb 2000 & still goin strong
I used a sneaky mind trick to give up, its based on "cognitive dissonance", the theory that the subconscious mind cannot hold two conflicting thoughts. So for 6 months or so I told myself "im a non smoker & I feel great", that was my mantra. Said that to myself every time I thought about smoking or was actually smoking, kept at it until it finally "clicked", was on a flight from Perth to Melbourne, 10 mins in I looked up at the seat in front of me & said "today is the day", just felt right, landed in Melbourne & threw the packet in the bin, never touched one since nor even remotely wanted to. Nearly blew some property deals over it as I was rather "testy" in the first few days lol, but a few patches on the arms sorted that out![]()
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
Nah, tried couple of times, decided that i have better ways to waste my healthand also my uncle died from lung cancer. PLUS have you ever tried to kiss ashtray? That's regarding smoking girls.
my grandfather had both lower legs removed when he was about 80, one just above the knee and the other just below....gangrene from crap circulation....not nice, and he gave up 40 years earlier!

I started to piss people off...
A proverbial anagram of
"Buying things you don't Need, with money you don't have, to impress people you don't like"
So the people I most wanted to piss off (not Mum and Dad either funnily enough) Were the people that least gave a shit, and would struggle to remember my name!
Same as any smoker, I am always awaiting the tomorrow that never comes to actually stop.
Getting scary now as my little girl (nearly 2, was going to quit when she was born ($5000.00 wasted)) sees me go outside, and wants to come and have what daddies having.
Time to give this shit away.
Boyd hh er Suzuki are my heroes!
The best deals, all the time!
Not nice at all,not belittling your grandads fate at all by saying this but my grandfather lost both legs after jumping on his bike to go fishing, after catching nothing and not wanting to go home empty handed when almost in his driveway he turned round and rode down to a shop that sold fish and purchased one he thought would impress my grandmother,on the way home he was run down by a car that failed to give wayYea i know nothing to do with smoking but your post reminded me of him.
