This didn't turn out too good.

I used to run a Vbulletin forum but never had this come up (it wasn't a very active forum haha). My solution is that you just allow your contacts and site staff to post on your visitor messages page, thus if a non contact wishes to talk to you, they can always use the PM service.

BTW if you guys can't help this dude then piss off, go spam somewhere else or google tubgirl.

Ahah! There's your answer. Good job!

This forum features a visitor messaging system that allows members to send messages to one another publicly.

If you do not want to receive visitor messages, you may disable the visitor messaging system.
You may limit the usage of your visitor messages to just moderators and your contacts.

yeah but that blocks VISITORS to my profile from posting. I didn't want to do that. Thats why I started this thread. Looks like I am stuck with doing that for now, just in case one retard doesn't understand "go away!" and decides to work around the blocking system.

I have been loathe to block people, with only one person on my block list. I think this will have to change.

I have to say the abuse and domestic violence on this site is fucking disgusting, and seriously, mods and forum leaders, you could pull your finger out and take a stand against the perpetrators.

    There is a point there.

I've been told by mods before to just "ignore" someone and put them on ignore. I have done this before, but a certain person or persons had other people quote their blocked messages so that they would show up.

So theres another flaw - quotes of people blocked should also be blocked?

Do you have to read it? Can you not just ignore someone yourself, or does it have to be done for you? How old are you?

There is a limit to what the admin can do to protect people from the results of their own social incompetence. Sure, we can send people to sit on the Naughty Chair, and dispatch the waaaambulance to dry your tears. But there is a limit to what can be done to protect those who continually create their own circle of childish grievance on the site, and then demand that drastic measures be taken to protect them.

    Well, sometimes we all wonder.

Professional bullies will always find the professional victims.

All I can do is impart my current favourite bit of advice:

This site, like any large social group, has its share of absolute Cocks.

If you don't want to be shafted by them, don't be an Arse.

If you insist on being an Arse, then we can't protect you from being shafted. The best we can do is provide you with some KY Jelly to ease your journey.

You can always just log off for about a week and let the dust settle and the people who are annoying you move onto someone else. It's like the media, today's news is tomorrow's fish and chip wrapper.

Yup. This is the position I will take. Intentional rudeness and other types of emotional violence will be reported on an ongoing basis. I won't retaliate, but the mods will have a job on their hands with the extra workload, to the point where they will have to do something about it one way or another. I doubt that they will be penalising me.

Surely telling the mods is retaliating??
To be honest just let it go...you have a choice to allow people to bug you...
