MX gear for street

I need to get some pants to wear while commuting on my trail bike which can be worn off the bike at the other end and also for more muddy adventures when I'm track building. I really like a zip off shorts feature too for summer, quick drying and not bulky. Do MX enduro style pants such as in Shift Squadron and Shift Recon offer much abrasion protection in a bin on the road or do they just melt to you. Or would I be better off getting Quazi jeans. I also use knee/shin armour underneath. I'm just not keen on leather or the gigantic textile touring pants that belong more on a beamer then a little XL.

havn't seen those pants but if they're like all the other MX pants i've seen/used they'll last about 0.2 seconds in contact with the road

heck, even codura doesn't seem to do that well looking at some of my mate's gear.... but if you've got armour on that should help alot

the only one really suitable are the dririder Rally X pants, any of the "enduro pants' will not last at all in a crash on the road,

currently got Spidi Raider street/enduro jacket and pants on the way~
optional rain liners, very lightweight minimal cordura gear, expect it dries very quick.
but ill have spidi defender armour to put in while im riding at all seriously.

but if i know im not going to go off road ill just wear my spidi leathers of course, havent really seen anything zip off short like,

i have motoline enduro set which is very breathable and dries pretty quick, even if you leave the liner in ~_~ zip off sleeves etc, zip open mesh vents, etc

Am I missing something? It's just that the Cordura appears to be better in some of the mx stuff then say the dri-rider road pants, for example

but remember road gear is built to take alot of heat from sliding down the road, whilst *generally* the only heat resistant parts of MX gear are on the inside of your leg to sheild against the exhaust pipe...

(that's alteast from my own experience, and even the heat resistant parts can melt

)

but damn codura pants would be waaaay too hot for dirt riding - mine can even get to hot for road riding
