    that must be new bike prices for sure cos I just paid mine about 10 days ago and it was $267... not cheap but just the price you pay to be legal

    Er, no: the excise tax, etc, is (I think) a fixed amount per litre. However the GST does go up as the price goes up.

    Unfortunately you need to be domiciled in a state to register a vehicle in that state. So unless you want to keep two houses or move house for two months a years, you're SOL.

    the rego prices in the first post is in regards to first time registration incl plates & getting it on the system

    I checked with LTSA today & must say I was relieved to find out my rego is about 180 less than quoted
    Have to Karma ... Justice catches up eventually !!
