Woke up to a bloody great hole in my vege garden.

Its finally stopped raining down here and went out the back yard this morning to find a huge hole in my vege gardenI put a 6ft long piece of wood in there with no sign of the bottom, will just have to let it drain before finding out just how deep it is,i have a mate who works for a roading outfit so hopefully he will be able to help out with fill and a truck so it shouldnt be to much of a hassle to fix.

More to the point...where did all the dirt go? No use filling it, if there's an 'outlet'.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Does it smell? Not a septic tank?

Is there (was there ) a storm water drain running under the garden ?

When they collapse, that is usually the result.

Depending on where you live - it may be worth getting it checked out.

It could be a sign of something more serious. Better to get it checked early before it rapidly expands and 1/2 your home falls into it (top tip - move the picasso to the room closest to the hole for insurance reasons)

Sorry about your hole dude, hope it's nothing too serious. The demise of your veggie garden though is something to celebrate surely, nasty green watery things.
    Oh bugger
