Codgy mentions Burgess and one can't help but be amazed if you add up how many world championships that man has been behind in the last couple of decades. He was at Honda for so long and I guess we could think ah he's got a good bike to work with, but like Rossi he was happy to go to Yamaha and prove himself too. The M1 changed overnight to a championship winner.

Could he do the same with a green coloured bike? I'd say he could.

    Really? But we'll never know.

But then - we would've thought Burgess and Rossi would have taken the Honda retirement package on offer............
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

I reckon if they'd stayed at Honda back then the domination would have continued and the Yamaha would never have got so good as no other teams were anything close back then. The change to 800s definitely made a difference and not to Honda's favour either.

I'm not sure how Hayden would do at Ducati - perhaps he's past his prime now.
    Cheers

    Gotta agree with that Merv.

Don't think so. Far as I know the 'screamer' has only been tested...not raced.

Yeah kwaka hasn't pulled it out yet in the races. They need to develop the electronics better apparently. Maybe next year?? Or if one of their development riders go for a wild card at motegi or sepang they might show it. Makes a completely different sounds so would be fairly big news if it was being used.

There was a reason Ducati want Hayden they believe he is capable of another world title I believe it to,

Also bike data showed that the Ducati really favours the rear brake and thatis what Cassey uses alot of rear brake and Ducati beleive that along with Nickys Dirt track background the bike would suit him really well.

I will find link of it on net

The photos of the RC211V show Hayden uses a different, bigger back brake disc than the dwarf. Haven't got close ups of the 212s yet...

    Maybe in Oct?

Pretty sure it is the same, here is a close up of pedrosa's bike at PI last year. Didn't get one of hayden's though.

Edit: Yep got one of haydens actually. Definately bigger on the 800!

I think judging by what Stoner has to say about the Ducati that they (Ducati) feel Hayden with his 'grab it by the horns' flat track style may well suit the Ducati. I think they may be right. The Honda really does seem to be sorted for the dwarf.

Seems crazy being a young ex-world champ but Hayden may only get 1 more year to do something on an 800. Would rule in SBK tho.

Nicky on a Duc has to be an improvement of poor old Marco. Who would have thought he would struggle so much? Mind you, Elias is also a GP winner, and he has no clue either.
There's so much depth amongst riders now, nobody's a slouch, and I see the basic problem as being not enough bikes on the grid. There's no room for Spies, potentially guys like Bautista, Simoncelli, and Dorna is dicking about with 250's and not really seeming concerned about the 800's. That makes no sense to me. Surely they need to be getting more bikes on the grid in the top class.
    Cheers

PS I sure hope Ducati can take Nicky and have him show his first WC wasn't a fluke. He deserves better than Honda's apparent treatment of him since.
