As a BMW technician of 15 odd years, i have seen those spigots blow off once or twice a week, You are the second person i know that has recieved serious burns as a result of it.
The last person i knew that had it happen had it go all over their torso, Not nice.
I never go near them when they look like that.

A while ago it came to light that it cost BMW the same to produce a 318i as it cost rover to produce a rover 100 (Mini metro shitbox).

Food for thought although I don't know what it says about the quality of the vehicles or the productivity.

I'm sorry if I offended your literary sensibilities. I have edited the post to make it less painful for you to read than it was for me to type.

Ouch man ... i feel your pain.

I had the same thing happen to me, not the hand thing tho ... driving down the motorway and the gauge goes into the red, next thing i know there's steam coming from under the hood of the bimmer.

Blew the top right off the radiator, the cause was a buggered water pump, lucky the car was still under warrentee of it would have cost me a fortune.

No, just over-rated and overpriced. Really sorry to hear of your injuries, and the rigmarole at the medical center. Burns really are the worst cos they dont stop burning.

You didnt remove the gearbox?? surely, No wonder they get a reputation for being expensive to repair, I keep those outlets in stock & charge 3/4 hour to do them from under the bonnett.

Ow bugger. Not like my retard of a friend who tried to unscrew the radiator cap when the car had been turned off a minute earlier.... Idiot.

I really hope you get better At least you're not in Norway, considering how much they pay in taxes you'd expect their medical system to be at least up to scratch... not even! I broke my hand, waited 6.5 hours for painkillers and over 7 for a cast. Had 3 different x-rays, all which they twisted my broken hand with no painkillers (I nearly punched the x-ray guy the last time) and then asked me to sign a form, to which I couldn't communicate with them that it was my writing hand I'd broken. I finally got the point across when I tried to sign the bloody thing and they said "Oh no no no its ok!"

Ouch, doesn't sounds good. And here was I thinking that the NHS was crap. Sounds like your medical provisions are as crap as ours.

    Hope you get well soon.
