Yep. I agree with this... and by "how he rides" I mean he has to be capable of riding fast and furious, but also capable of being generous enough to slow down and ride with me when we're riding together.

oooh MadDuck you're painting a pretty yummy picture, but I want to know what you've been doing spying on my man! (But he must have stolen someone else's bike coz my bloke rides a silver SV but accurate with the rest of the description.)

For the boys' education I'll tell you why this picture appeals - we like the 'danger' of the 'bad boy' who wears black and is all mysterious behind his tinted visor. We want him to be masculine and powerful. So yeah, any bike that's going to help give that impression is a good start. But also remember it's the whole package (so to speak) - we also don't want to be disappointed when we find out what's behind the visor!

JJ! I loved buellbabes comments & response to the thread question! had you typed the same response I would have acknowledged your's as well!

Yes, it so happens that I think women riders rock, however, my initial motivation is that I was really impressed with her attitude.

It was a positive acknowlegment and gender didnt actually even come into it for me!

Would you like a cup of tea JJ?

no, but not giving the bloke half a chance because he isn't one or two things on ya list is. Maybe your lesson is you might need to be more accepting of who he is.

He doesn't need to share your every passion but to give you the support in your passions an likewise. Relationships are about compromise, you don't have to be doing everything together - sometimes its quite healthy not too.

The key to your relationship is quite simply you. Just because he doesn't ride a bike is not the end of the world, you might enjoy other things in his company more. You won't know unless you give it a solid crack.

To not allow yourself to be with someone because they do not fit your ideal persona (which you have created) is a little short sighted. There is no such ideal perfect mate. We are human and we have flaws, its how we accept them that makes the difference.

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,

What have you found? The same old fears.

Funny how this thread has turned into a 'some of you girls are shallow to judge a man by his bike'...note the original question above ... specifically the bit in bold.....

Some of you boys are sensitive aren't ya

My personal opinion is that the bike doesn't matter. It all depends on the guy that wants you to jump on the back with him. Oh, and whether or not he will let you take the bike for a spin

Hmm, i wondered about that. Almost all of my boyfriends had bikes and for the life of me I can only remember one of them. The BIKEs that is, not the bf's!! Andrew had a Titan. There. I can't remember what any of the others rode. As long as the bike was mobile, I was up for a ride. Didn't matter what it was.

Luckily some of us don't "need" a flash bike to get a lady's interest
