I have no problem naming this scum! Tom Leigh is DEAD! He died in prison serving time for the crimes he admitted and committed!

I name him because I can, he damaged friends of mine, ruined their lives. They and their families still suffer the ongoing shame of what happened. Do some research on this man, the story has already been told on TV!

He died in prison, serving a term for abusing students in his care. I knew him, he was a frendly kind of fellow. He abused some of my friends.

I HATE any person in trust (but particularly a teacher) who takes advantage of their position and abuses children!

Thomas Edward Leigh, a former teacher from Mahurangi College in Warkworth, pleaded guilty to a total of twenty eight charges including rape, sexual violation and indecent assault. Leigh had apparently been indulging in improper behaviour towards young girls at the college for something like 20 years. Successive headmasters at the school tended to disbelieve complaints, and unbelievably, the PPTA is reported to have argued against an investigation on the grounds that he had a medical condition which would be exacerbated by the stress.
A sixteen year old, and her mother braved ostracism from staff and peers to press charges. Once the initial charges became public knowledge, dozens of other victims emerged to tell their stories of his activities. He has been remanded for psychiatric assessment prior to sentencing.

Pretty incredible story for sure. The Board of Governors as they were called at the time, included local doctors and JP's etc. It was a shocker for this community.

He died in prison. Somehow he received "prison justice" and spent a few months in hospital recovering before being sent back. He only served a couple of years of his sentence.

WTF, I personally take offence to that comment, would this point/question even be raised if it was two teenaged boys living in the home of a single woman without an adult male present???? Fuck that pisses me off

Uhhu...about par for the course for the militant female labour government. If Craven had any guts she would have expressed revulsion at the concept of other males being guilty because they have a penis and are therefore incapable of taking care of females-this is no different to bashing ALL Maori's when one Maori commits a crime.
To be honest St_Gabriel it fucks me off as well, I have a teenage daughter who frequently brings home her mates. All nice kids, I cherish the time with both her and her friends-soon she will be gone and all that will be left will be memories.
To have anyone suggest I am incapable of looking after these young ladies, or do not protect and nurture them to the best of my ability is fucken insane. I am a Dad that's what I do and to put the slag Craven on the back foot I can unequivocally state that should anyone attempt to hurt either my daughter [or her friends when under my roof] I could do a far better job of protecting them than she could or most women for that matter.

Well, was reading the herald today, and found this article..

This guy was my I.T. teacher when I went to Avondale College a couple of years ago.. bloody scary stuff.

Well, have an interesting story about this guy actually,

I was skipping school one day and I went into the toilets to take a slash and get changed out of my uniform,

When I came out of the cubicle I saw him standing behind a wall in the bathroom and he put his finger to his lip in that "Be quiet" sort of action and pointed to the cubicle next to me. I could some guy was in there and i assumed he was just really dedicated to catch someone who was skipping class in the toilets.

I proceeded to quickly get out of the bathroom (didn't want him to snap me for not being in uniform). Creeped the hell outta me, probably was just doing what I thought he was but he really was a creepy teacher who you'd sorta expect this kind of thing from.
