Well, as usual a thread turns into some extra entertainment. Would you believe I got my first ever red rep the whole time I have been online with KB.
Do I need to say who?

Ok, firstly thanks for those of you I've ridden with who will vouch for my "careful" "considerate" driving. It's always a pleasure riding with you whenever we can.

    Some really good comments here.

    Main reason for the vid?
I believe the GSX1400 is one of the most underated modern sports tourers on the planet. Over and over again I have considered selling her and maybe getting something sportier but quite frankly it is probably one of the best all round sports tourers you could get your hands on. The vid was to show you it's awesome attributes.

Now, I was not riding anywhere near 100% taking into account the road conditions and traffic. Quick....yes but mad, certainly not. I like to come home from a ride. The video camera angle may show some "dum" moments, I can assure you they were all made with careful calculations regarding velocity and speed and road conditions. I used to ride a hell of a lot faster and harder than that.

To some, they will appear crazy to others boring just as this thread has pointed out.

Suspensions is perfect for me. The camera however is hard to keep still on a moving bike, a Panasonic Min DV the older bigger ones, with no image stabiliser.

Simple answer to the points made of stupid is that you had to be there. All manouevres were made in complete safety with plenty of room for error and you just really had to be there before you can judge.

Quick point for all the rock throwers. You break the law just once and you have broken the law period. You are just as guilty as I am in regard to the letter of the law. So, if you have never broken the law, judge away.

    Cheers for the posts peeps

Bullshit. They might have seemed completely safe to you, but do you know the level of experience of the bike riders you passed? Or their impression of the degree of 'safety' that surrounds them? What about the car drivers? Do you know their levels of experience?

There are plenty of entirely possible senarios that could have made any one of those "safe manoeuvres" anything but safe.

Err, at the risk of sounding patronising, don't get out of bed in the morning because every day brings dangers that you cannot account or prepare for. Life and living is only by grace alone. No one can plan for the unexpected or be certain that you will not cause problems for someone else.

I for one don't want to live life in a padded room in case I get injured. I do however make sure that I do not endanger others about me. Again, you had to be there.

I remeber a similiar conversation with a guy on kb that went on and on about how was riding dangerous when which he managed to judge from a foto

Heres what I saw.... beyond posted the speed 220, then a few seconds later posted about drivers not using indicators. At that speed, someone in a car wouldn't even know you are there until you pass (doesn't excuse the point about not using indicators) but my point is, I myself have been in that situation before, in a car and on the bike, all of a sudden, a bike buzz's you and ya think wtf??? where did that come from?
Im in no doubt Beyond had it under controll.
