    Street Magic slow up hills

    Hi,

I hear through the grapevine that WINJA? is the master off all street magic issues?

So if he or anyone else can help that would be appreciated.

I've got a street magic that I've just bought. I replaced the drive belt with a new one from scootling and have new 7.5gram rollers in it.

The bike is stock standard. Its a square indicator model with a 90k speedo.

The bike is quite fast down hills and accelerates quite well on the flat - gets to about 70km with me on it (around 82kg).

However when I go up a hill the speed is dropping off dramatically. I am aware that obviously a drop off in speed is natural, however even when I start at 50kph coming into a hill, by the end I am often going no more than 25kph.

The hills I'm talking about aren't that steep, just regular suburban hills around the North Shore in Auckland.

Any ideas anyone as to what might be causing it?

I remember the first magic's use to get clogged up mufflers & bogged down on up hill's,just remove the muffler & see if that helps,if thats the prob then the muffler needs to be cut & gutted....worth a look

If you take the muffler of and get it acid dipped it will work wonders. Worked for me

did you ever find out what was slowing your magic down up hills?
mine has been a bit slow as well but only some days. it seems to loose revs and im not sure if its a fuel thing or a variator problem. i was kind of hoping you found the solution

    slow hill problem solved

after trying a few different things with no sucess i found the du bush inside the variator had a step worn into it causing the cage to stick and not travel smoothly down the shaft, after fitting a new bush it solved the problem and back to normal hill speeds and a constant idle speed.
