Earlier in the year, the wife along with a few friends went to the Davenport wine festival. We had a great time, drinking wine, listening to music, eating food, acting sophisticated...
When we left, there was a booze van waiting close by. The officers were very polite as they breath tested my wife who was driving. She passed no problems. I asked the officer if I could take the test as well, as I just wanted to see if I was ok to drive. I had a few wines over the period of 5-6 hours. He was totally cool, let me take the test, which I passed.
It was good to be able to equate how buzzed I felt with how much alcohol was registered from my test without getting arrested. Very informative.

I said to the officer how it would be nice to have the machine at the festival, so you could test yourself prior to leaving, therefore avoiding driving drunk. He agreed and we all laughed.

Very common at biker parties where I originate. We did that already in the 80's. If you were over you were not allowed to leave! (more partying...)

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I think it would be a great business opportunity. Could call it "Blow Me."
Other than the fact of being around a bunch of drunks...

Good company name... I like it!

    I have heard the words:

"you are now required to undergo a breast-screening test".

Funny that - we were walking past the gates of said festival late in the afternoon and (as well as enjoying the music) were entertained by the rolling drunk middle aged folk staggering out ...one woman flaked out in the middle of the road....
Back on topic - I appreciate the input from KB members who are in the force, its good to get their perspective on things.

I had a lady in a sports car once said to me "you wouldn't give a pretty woman a ticket would you?" I said "No".

I went back to the patrol car, did some checks, calmly walked back to her car and then handed her a ticket.
