    No more VFR400 fork seals

honda no longer make fork seals for nc24 vfr400's. i went into hamilton honda to get some the other day and they rang me today saying theres one left in the country and that they are a disscontinued product the dealer is trying to sourse some aftermarket ones

so does anyone have an idea of my options?

are there any other forks that would fit my bike etc?

    cheers

Bound to be a compatible equivalent, bit of research orta sort it.

If not try a wee chat with Pacific Seals in Petone, not much in the way of seals they can't make.

Why not just wait for the shop to find the aftermarket ones?

It shouldn't matter. Take the old seals out, measure the ID, OD and height and there will definately be a replacement aftermarket in the same dimensions.

That really shits me. One thing Soichiro was always so firm on was that as long as you live, you'll always be able to get parts for your Honda motorcycle. After he died, one by one, bits started disappearing from the parts lists.

Good to know, Sure beats rolling up a bit of shit paper and popping it under the dust seal to get a WOF...

just take these dimensions into any engineering supplies store, and ask for one. If they dont have them, ask WHO carries an oil seal such as this. I use Bay Engineering Supplies.

Aftermarket ones are available. I just had a set of forks rebuilt and new seals were provided.
