We talked about it, but he wasn't sure where paintball guns came into it, but said it was entirely possible that it could come under discharging a firearm in a public place.

Yea the term "Firearm" would probably be hard to stick them with, but from my understanding there's a subpart in the firearm section on the law covering other "Projectile Weapons" covering things like Airrifles, crossbows etc and I would assume that would cover paintball guns...

It dosen't matter. If it looks like a firearm (working, non working, imitation, etc) or is presented in a manner as to give the impression that you have one.
Teenagers like to play with "replica" guns so that they appear cool to their mates.
There have been some VERY shit scared kids who get pulled up by AOS and have to answer a few questions...

Yes paintball guns are counted as firearms, you can even get done for the firearm in a public place thing if you're waving a bright yellow piece of plastic around if it is shaped somewhat like a gun, functional or not. Good example is a mother on one of the police programs getting pulled over (pretty sure there was some amount of armed offenders squad in there too) because her very young son was playing with a toy gun in the backseat while she was driving around.

I wear back armour so I don't think I would've felt it would still piss me off though, you know they wouldn't be happy if you even looked at them 'wrong'.

So....not a firearm as such then, BUT....paintball guns are classed as airguns so logically it would appear that in this instance normal firearm laws would apply.

You can argue the causes till the cows come home, but it’s a fact that certain ethnicities are heavily overrepresented in violent crime statistics. Thus it’s reasonable to have correlation between ethnicity and dumb-arse actions.

for those of you currently perching your self righteous over inflated selves on your tree-hugging pedestals, blahing on about racism/racist comments - how bout not ignoring the potential for serious injury these actions could have caused.....lets see: paint ball, blank range, velocity etc vs an eye = goodbye eye; OR...vs soft tissue (anyone who's seen/felt the pain of a paint ball at close range knows what i'm talking about)....the unexpected nature of the impact could easily have made a less experienced person lose their balance/line etc and caused a collision with another road user....all sorts of pain/chaos.

so lets shelve the diversionary tactics regarding racist comments, and focus on the real issue: some stupid fkers who were old enough to know better shot a guy riding a motorbike with a paintball, and thought it was funny...then got all aggro when approached...and probably woulda beat three kinds of shit outta the innocent party if he'd hung around any longer...
