    Star Trek is here

Went to a company presentation and for anyone who missed the news, it was kinda interesting! Pics are of Rove McManus tlkaing in real-time with Jeremy Corbett from 98.1FM. Rove is a hologram beamed direct from Aus!

Other pic is Che Fu singing a duet with himself! Next is the company logo.

We were blown away with the technology called Next IP!

Event was great with the Crusty Demons and another group on dirt bikes doing stunts, the name I didn't recognise and can't remember off hand.

Sorry you missed a good show. Che Fu was great! VERY LOUD for us old farts but great! The bike acrobatics were well done and yep, the tech was impresive!

So many of the invited guests wanted a setup but unfortunately couldn't buy it for any amount... Great stuff and world first I think.

    You mean Star Wars.

Hologram technology was never used regularly in Star Trek.

    Voice Communicators ftw.

Only on the HoloDecks or where there were holoemitters... there the holograms had substance which used the replication technology to acheve this... oh and on ST Voyager where the Doc was a hologram

but you are correct for in general Star Wars they mainly used holograms for communications...

He didn't say STNG. As everybody knows, holodecks did not feature in TOS.

Please let me know when you want to pit your inferior knowledge of the Star Trek Universe against my magnificent and superior intellect.

He also did not say he was talking about the orginal series either... and since he was talking Star Trek and holograms... logic dictates hes talking about the STNG or after...

Every true fan knows that an unqualified title of "Star Trek" infers that the superior being discussing the finest TV show ever, is talking about TOS. Those of us fluent in the patois of Sc-Fi TV refer to the later and somewhat inferior spin-offs by their dimunutive anagrams; TNG for Next Generation, DS9 for Deep Space 9, and Little House on the Prairie in SPace for Voyager.

Now go away before I curse you in a little known Klingon dialect.

Not forgetting the short lived 4 season prequill Enterprise who some same should have never been made... and yet the did...

There was an epsoide where the encounted a friendly species (and in theory stayed friendly) with holodecks technologly so one can assume that the technology was there 100 years down the track in TOS... and not necessarily on the actual vessels or even if it was not mentioned...

Awaiting comic book guys response to series Enterprise

Star Trek fans deny the existence of episodic fare regarded as a prequel to Star Trek, due to the obvious and glaring historical errors and the incorrectly applied Klingon brow ridges. Klingons from this time frame look like tall, swarthy Asian humans.

Star Trek future historians have determined that the Klingons of TOS were superseded as the Klingon primary ethnic group by the gentically diverse Klingons seen in TNG.

Your powers are pitiful. My superior knowledge has once again proved that I am the better man. A very fat man with a pony tail, but nonetheless better than those who dare oppose me.

Indeed, when asked (as Worf was) the only correct response is "This in not something we discuss with outsiders"

Having said that, a teaser trailer for the JJ Abrams movie is up on the website
I thought elections were decided by angry posts on social media. - F5 Dave
