SI KiwiBiker Rally via the adv route.

Checking interest for some "alternative" routes, based around the Rally for Adv bikes. Could include the obvious options of the gravel Passes, Black Forest Rd, Omarama Saddle, Thompsons Track, Dunstan Trail, Serpentine Rd etc. Plus also looking at a couple of options via paper roads & farm tracks, that could get us into the Dansey's Camp the "back way".
If enough interest we could start a seperate thread / topic?

Hiya mate, always keen but I'm hoping the Hobbit Queen will be making her way on one of the hobbit bikes so it'll be a slow and careful adventure down on the Friday for us. If she's not riding her bike she'll be on the back of the pack mule, either of which will rule us out of anything too adventurous. Cheers.
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

I'll be taking the Friday off to head down too, if you 2 are interested in meeting up for the ride down? Though it's a while off yet, so we can sort out details later

Thanks for the offer, but I've decided I'll take the Duc to this one.

hey the Duc season is over

I'll be heading down early . Wanting to have decent play on the wee Otago Fisherman's 'El Dorado', the river that the Hoilday park backs on to is a jewel for big trout

So where is this camp ground youse jokers? I've stayed at Campbell Park which is just off the main highway to Duntroon. Can't remember any camping ground around there but must be something.

    On the Dansey's Pass Road.
Turn off at Pukeuri towards Kurow, left again 35kms in at Duntroon.
    Another 15km to site. E&OE
