Im keen for only doing half coro - but we are going to have petrol stops ah... cause i can only ride for a couple of hours on my gas guzzling GSXR before I need to fill up (so will probably need a couple of stops unfortunately)

We will be stopping for petrol and food stops. (Coro is too far to do on one tank, unless you've got a insane 20+L tank hidden away somewhere?) :P

Sweet, yeah I'm just getting use to fact that have to fill up more, as on my old 250 i use to be able to get from the Naki to Ak on one tank... but now only have a couple of hours riding. but would never turn back... the compromise of filling up more is sooooo worth the ride!

hehe... so jaffa. it'll be a half coro for the learners then, i take it? not a bad idea. i think it's best to ease into the crazy twisty route as a learner than to dive headfirst without any protection - so to speak.. so a half coro as for the first time there sounds smart enough.

yeh im on a gsxr aswell. i thikn the 750's have slightly better mileage (i was riding my k6 750 and mate is on a k7 600 and i was getting about 30-50 more km's on our rides) can just stop when ever havnt had any dramas around coro!

also, the half coro is still a decent ride. unsure what i will be doing but depends on other ppl weather and soreness factor :P

That sounds sweet. Yeah I was intending to buy a 750 - largely due to being better suited for NZ roads, but then the 600 came up cheap so went for it. Yeah i had planned that i would need a full up by about thames and probably another one on teh way back. but happy to keep an eye on it and take it as it comes!
I have had plenty of open road experience, so not worried about doing full loop in that respect, but just thinking time wise - and the amount of work i have to do - the half loop is probably better for this weekend!

    Check your bike over beforehand.

Adjust your chain, check your pads, take any tools you might need in a backpack, cellphone, camera etc. Some cash in case your EFTPOS bounces and you need gas etc.

Any non-material aspects will be covered before we start riding.

wait, so am i coming or not?

i find shouting doesn't work either... trick is to let off the gas just before they fall off so they slip back on (for the record dushi was the only one not to know i was about to pin it, hanne and "the other girl" weren't expecting the mighty V4 to pull so much)

i've only ever done a half coro... kopu hill is my favourite road, so if we do a full loop i propose a figure 8 track

    1. Know your limits.
    2. Make sure your bike's prepared e.g. chained lubed, topped up with oil, etc
    3. Have the right gear

Everyone looks after each other on the ride so you won't be left behind. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the ride!
