Anyone know when this weather's due to clear?

I'm supposed to be riding down to Palmy North this Sunday, but I don't want to be out in 100km/h + winds, in fact I don't want to be out in anything over 20 knots! But I don't want to be stuck down that way without my own vehicle, if I don't take my bike it'll be gay-burger, relying on transport from mates etc.......Anyone have any USEFUL info on this?

Should I just ride down anyway?

Hopefully by the time the weekend has arrived this blessed weather would have disappeared and gone else where. Just a matter of keeping a look at the weather forcast either via the TV or thru the papers or even get onto the weather forecasts on the net. Roll on Summer is all I can say. Goodluck.

Yeah definately, problem is it kinda looks like one of those storms that'll stick around, and from here it's 5 hours or so away, not keen to be riding in a heavy gusting wind for that period of time.......

Then IMHO, don't do it...confidence is a big part of riding successfully in strong winds.

If you decide to do it anyway, keep yourself as square as possible against the wind, don't back off the throttle too harshly (actually keeping the revs up helps), and have a good night rest the day before.

it would be a tiring trip, but invaluable learning. Just my 0.002c worth.

Very true!! its atleast 2c worth..

Just becareful of winds changing direction while you change yours as well...
A mate was compensating for wind coming from the right and he went round a bend and being a numbnut day dreamer carried on with the same compensation but the wind was coming form the other direction... thre him of his bike and he had a couple of crakced ribs and a very expensive paint job to take care off...

Not an impossible ride... but tiring and tricky.. IF you start getting nervous.. pull over and

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
