My son plays for NZ - in New Plymouth!

Some of you know that my son is a bit of a rugby player and he seems to be doing ok. A couple of weeks ago he was selected to play for the NZ Secondary Schools rugby team. They've been off to Samoa (and thrashed them) but are now back and play the Aussies tomorrow in New Plymouth. If you're in the area and you're interested the game is at 12.00pm at Yarrow Stadium. It'll be a good opportunity to see some of NZ's rising young talent (and my son.) I'll be there so if you see me say hi. There's no doubt a photo or two round KB of me...

    News is here

    (Jeff is a tighthead prop. He's 6'3" and 114kgs - at 17 that's not going too bad)

That's sacred ground at Rugby Park in New Plymouth. I played there once myself, but nothing as exalted as for a New Zealand rep team. That's the real deal. Well done to the Pop family!

Geez, how big is he going to be when he grows up Col?

With the shortage of decent props in NZ he may get a chance to go further and make some great pesos huh.

Yep. Ain't it grand when one of the family does well.

Congrats Col. Give him a hug from us.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
