some of you know where i stand, but it seems to me most kiwi's vote based on:

    how their parents vote

    with their wallet

    by fear of change

    by how everyone else votes

by what they think should be forced on all of us.

for fucks sake, someone please think when your voting and see the big picture and open your mind a bit, no matter which way you vote, we do not need the govt on our backs to keep this country going!
Simple answer: Because New Zealanders are conditioned by the Government sponsered education system to think and act like socialists!

In other words surrender their souls to the State.

Governments are tools of the people, socialists believe that the people are the property of the government. Tui moment here, yeah right!

Governments steal your money and use it to promote themselves and their own ideas to keep themselve in power and you let them do it.

Good free thinking post Carver. Cheers, John.

Obviously its illegal status at the time went a long way toward saving you from yourself, eh?

I offer for your consideration the idea of legal sales of alcohol and cannabis products to people aged 21 and over. (Lowering the drinking age to 18 was a shocking idea, IMHO.)

Intelligent policies along those lines could motivate a social shift away from a culture of teenage drug abuse. Goodness knows the system we have now isn't working.

Of course, one can never, in the end, save people from themselves. And some hold the opinion that it's better not to try...

    Who is anti/pro gay

    Who is anti/gay abbortion

Also it's not so much how your parents voted (My parents never told me how they voted,or told me how to vote) but by your social enviroment as a young person. And that doesn't mean you vote the same as your peers - as we saw tonight,John Key was brought up by a solo mum in a State house,it didn't mean he wanted to stay that way.

If you were lucky your genes gave you a brain to think for yourself, and you can make your own decisions. There are blind plodders on both side of the camp - and that's the worst part, most can only see two choices....or one really, the one they choose.

Carver, you should have come to uni today. Winstin Peters was there, you could have insulted him on behalf of your mormon race.

    My thoughts exactly.

I feel as if I SHOULD vote - ya know to 'have my say' and all...BUT I don't want to give a vote to a party I have no faith in or respect for...and that's pretty much all of them.
My aim is to figure out who the lesser of all the evils is in time to vote!

    Man... you guys are funny.

I'm moving to NZ because out of all the places I've been/heard about the Kiwi's have their heads up their ass to the shallowest degree.

Hell, at least you guys vote. More people there showed up to vote than stayed home over here in the US.

You guys also also legitimately have more than two parties.

That's a remarkably astute thing to say, Mr Carver.
Indeed we do not - the Gummint has waaaaayyy too many bureaucrats and hangers-on, and has passed way too many stupid pieces of legislation (as has local gummint). What we need is fewer bureaucrats, and fewer rules'n'regulations, especially of the social programming/manipulation type.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
