Broken side stand, 04 gsx250 Invader

went to put up my side stand today and the blardy thing snapped in two
couldn't go anywhere because its got a cutoff switch that kills the engine when the stand is down and its in gear and it broke wrong side of the spring to stay up...

anyway, found some plastie ties and tied it up, got home, tried to fix the stand with quick fix. that failed.

so dose anyone know were to get a replacement, or have any other ideas. i had a look on trademe but no joy there.

Just take it to a engineering workshop and get them to weld it.

How did you get on?

Have you worked out what caused the failure?
It may be a case of sitting on the bike with the stand down? This shouldn't be done.

Anyhow, hope it's all worked out okay.

I've got the same model, maybe I should be checking mine?? where/how did it break?

ended up getting one from a wreckers.

yea I do quite often sit on my bike while its on the stand, which i guess would have weakened it. but it broke when i was moving my bike backwards with the stand down and it caught on a lip on the ground.
