    Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes

    Is that "Burns" as in the poet, or "burns" as in Nicki Lauder?

    In wood and wild, ye warbling throng,
    Your heavy loss deplore;
    Now, half extinct your powers of song,
    Sweet Echo is no more.

    Ye jarring, screeching things around,
    Scream your discordant joys;
    Now, half your din of tuneless sound
    With Echo silent lies.

    Roll on Sepang.

    Had a lamb rack and ratatouille for dinner with a nice red to help it on its way.

    Dessert was mixed berries with a dash of The Glenlivet and chocolate ice cream. Might not have done for the Duke, but I'm out of kirsch.

    Dinner tomorrow night is similar but a recent small windfall suggest all will be accompanied by a little something from Rheims.

    Should I need additional justification for such largesse, it's back to work on Monday after three weeks off...

    I have ten or eleven Malts in my collection, the Darkest was the last to arrive and was emptied in about two weeks.

    Other bottles currently open:

    Balvenie Doublewood
    Lagavulin 16yo
    Highland Park
    Scapa (Orkney)
    Glen Garioch 21yo (Highland)
    Bruichladdich (Islay)
    and a coupla Merchany bottled:
    Dun Bheagan (Cask Strength 13yo Tamdhu)
    Cadenhead (1986 Jura)

    Which calls for a drink - the Dun Bheagan, I think...
