Fuck, I sound like a communist. Gahh! Thud.
I didn't know the idea of people making tonnes of money for themselves and getting others to pay for their mistakes being a bad thing was a communist ideal. I thought that was just plain common sense.

I'd be like a train crash. You know you shouldn't look, but you can't help it out of morbid curiosity.

    Edit:

Very similar to Riffer. Is that a good or bad thing?

When it's the taxpayer providing the money, it's communism.

    say duh!

communism is quite a specific brand of extreme socialism in which all work is collectivised and managed by government.

the ignorance surrounding political definitions is deeply ingrained.

taxpayer contributions to society in general is socialist by nature except when it's bailing out capitalist failures: then it's just a fucking crime and the most hypocritical abuse of a political system

That political compass analysis of NZ this year is a pile of bollocks ('scuse my French). The Labour party are far more Authoritarian than that for example: trampling all over private property rights over Akld airport; anti-smacking; legislating against free speech...

I suspect that site is run by raving lefties.

ahmmm, the 'anti smacking' bill was a Green Party bill.

I reckon it's about right. Labour is far less authoritarian than National, ACT or those strange people in United Future.

By definition of course, ALL politicians are authoritarian; they all want to tell you how to run your life.

It was a whipped vote for Labour.

If you actually look at voting patterns in the house on social issues, ACT and the Greens vote quite similarly...but then lefties love to portray an insistance on personal responsibility as somehow "authoritarian", I don't get it myself.

indeed, why bother when your 'opponent' has such a weak case all they can offer is fallacy?

STATISTS want government to have a great deal of power

over the economy and individual behavior. They frequently

doubt whether economic liberty and individual freedom

are practical options in today's world. Statists tend to distrust

the free market, support high taxes and centralized

planning of the economy, oppose diverse lifestyles,

and question the importance of civil liberties.

Couldnt be more wrong if it tried to be LOL

I asked why two parties with very similar voting patterns on social issues are ranked so differently on the "authoritarian / libertarian axis". You run away calling it a debating fallacy...what-evah.
