    David's Round 6

The short version: I got slower and slower as the day went on.

    Longer version:
I qualified in 600SS 2nd to last I think with a fastest lap of 1:25 which really sucked. I was struggling to get any drive at all out of the slower corners and was sliding everywhere.

    Race 1:
Got a terrible start and then spent the rest of the race putting round trying to stay up right while sliding out of all the slower corners. Got lapped by the race leader who then promptly high sided in front of me in very specular fashion.

    Restart:
My tyre was looking very worse for wear but decided to go out for the remaining 5 laps. The more my rear slid round more I lost my confidence and and the slower I got.

I didn't get a chance to do race 2 as had a wedding to go to which was probably a good thing as was feeling pretty discouraged with my riding/bike.
All in all this was my worse result of the series and was really dissapointing to say the least. Oh well I'll try and get my suspension/tyre issues sorted and I'll be back hopefully!!

Highlight of the weekend probably was a couple evenings of motoXing with my brother. Way different to road bikes but good fun. I'll have to get me one of these.

Thanks again to the Vic Club for putting on an awesome series. Also thanks to my brother (Benji) for his help around the pit changing tyres etc.

Dont be dis-illusioned David, you had the odds against you riding with a shagged tyre. and you know you have done some great laptimes!

Its just racing, good with bad. Wish it could always be good, but then life would be dull, and we'd have no excuse to get sloshed! lol

chin up matie. Good will be back for ya.

Thanks Vickie. Haha yeah you are right - oh well I've got a bit of time up my sleeve to get things sorted.

You're look very impressive out there Vickie . Are you doing the Road Race Spectacular series at all? Will see you there if you are.

Sorry to hear that things weren't going good for you in your last round with us. I can understand how dishearting you must be feeling as no doubt like many other riders out there you were hoping to finish the series on a high. We look forward to seeing you back out there racing with us in the 2009 Actrix Winter Series and who knows that could be the season of all seasons for you. Keep your chin up and catch you at our opening round next year at Taupo ok?. Cheers Skip.

    Hi Dave

I was good to meet you on Friday.
I saw you lagging in race 1 on Saturday no wonder aye.
The encouraging thing is you had the skill to keep your bike upright even though it was unstable and you had the guts determination and pride to finish the race mate so dont get too down about it.
What im beginning to see is that any number of things can either speed you up or slow you down on the day you just gotta keep at it so keep at it.

See ya at the track soon Davy Boy.

Know just how you feel David. I was after a good finish to the season and wanted to start nailing 13's...but lack of confidence in my tyres stopped me...gutted!

Same solution as always though: sort the issue then go back and waste PB's!

    All the best.

You just need to sort out that problem and you will be good to go.

Watching from the slip road I could visibly see you sliding and fighting the bike out of the hairpin compared to the other bikes and with tyre wear like that, there is definately something wrong with the bike.

Probably see you at the suzuki track day.

Get some new tyres and suspension sorted and your usual form and confidence will return. Don't get discouraged as I have seen some decent lap times from you in previous rounds.

It's been good catching up with you in the last few of rounds and look forward to seeing you at a track soon.

Yeah not crashing is always a good thing.
