i got pulled up yesterday doing 125.(i was actually doing about 140 but braked a bit beforen he got me.)

i thought to myself ...ooohhh shit. that'll be $400 for the wrong class of license,(i'm still on a learners, riding my blade) ,and 35 demerit points, not displaying an L plate, plus what ever for the speed, and maybe that my rego and warrant wasn't displayed.(they're under the seat cowl)

well,to my pleasant surprise,he didn't ask to check the warrant or rego.
he did however ask for my license, but failed to see that i'm on a learners, and seemed more interested in talking about my bike

when i gave him my license,he sort of gave me a double take, and said ,"that the fine was $170 for speeding, and 35 demerits.

i'm not sure if he new or not,but fuck was i glad i wasn't hammered for the license thing.

i should have got my full years ago,but i'm one of those fools who never used to care, and just rode anyways.

got to sit my restricted in about three weeks, and the full can't come soon enough.
it would be good to have BEFORE i lose it

I made my first 'contribution' in about 10-15 years last week.
I was on a shop loaner while mine was getting serviced and the damn thing is a cop magnet. The last time I had the same Buell XB12R I got pulled up and the bike inspected from top to toe...turns out he just wanted to stand on the side of the road and chat about the bike cos he was thinking of getting one LOL!

But last week I was tootling back from hamil-vegas and was dumb enuf not to reign it in along Hampton Downs. There is a spot where they can park and chase ya in either direction but i was having so much fun I didn't spot the patrol car til it was too late. i was doing a licence and bike losing speed and hit the brakes as hard as I dared to in the drizzly conditions.

He followed me and pulled me over. Reckoned he clocked me at 126 (PHEW! thought I) and was nice enuf to only ticket me for 119 so that dropped the fine down AND also reduced the number of demerits...I thought that was pretty cool and really, who have I got to blame but myself??? C'est la vie...

This is actually a bad thing.

Road deaths during the labour led government have dropped each year, which would directly relate back to the amount of tickets etc being issued, if national steps in and has less cops issueing tickets (and they can't turn a blind eye so only way of achieving this would be less cops on the roads.)

Road toll WILL go back up.

    Wrong skiddy,

They will target black spots and 'high risk' people (Drink drivers and the like). Stopping nana for doing 61 at the bottom of a hill on a 4 lane road in a 50 area will take less priority.

So it may go down further - as they are concentrating on the 20% of places / people that kill not the 80% who harmlessly drift over the speed limit.

You also have to remember that cars and roads have gotten better over the last 10 years - there are other contributing factors.

    Speculation.

I heard on the radio today national denying this saying they want to lower tax for individuals not increase it.

but we also have more immigrants who cant drive for shit, take priority, if granny is coming down the hill doing 61 and there is nobody else to book, guess who.

Or worse, they will take the priority to book motorcyclists, even more than they do now.

Oh yay what a swell idea.
