    What's wrong with this picture?

The Salvation army say they are struggling to meet demand from middle income earners at 10 of their food banks.

Check out the woman in the picture. Doesn't look like she's starving does it? The Food Banks should restrict access to fat people.

    Meh. Where do you stop?

The local Sally Army was a client of mine for a while. I would return their support with donations of large quantities of groceries.

One day I was on the premises at food-parcel time. Most of the recipients were queuing outside rather than in. Why? Because inside is a smoke-free zone...

Fuck 'em. If they can afford to smoke...

You mean the part where middle income earners are going to food banks.

I'll probably get slapped for this but I don't understand how a bottle of fizzy drink is something that should be 'issued' or whatever in a food bank. SHouldn't it be the staples and maybe sachets of raro if you must...nah fuck it - what's wrong with drinking water? ...it's FREE after all (well in most places in NZ anyway)

they hand out whatever is donated, so if somebody gives them 100 crates of flat coke they may as well give it away.

Food banks should be for those people that have genuine need. If they smoke or are fat - fuck them. There was an article on the news about some church in oz handing out food. The number of fat people (not overwieght but FAT) that were lining up for a hand out - fucken disgusting!
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

True...hey if anyone wants to donate any camembert, brie, wine, crackers and other such stuff - don't waste it on the foodbanks - it's not good for their 'clients' systems to eat such rich food - they'll get gout or something...Pass it my way instead hmmkay

They wouldn't be seen dead in a foodbank. They even struggle at regular supermarkets.

I saw the news artcile and I said the same thing to my wife. There was a bout 3 of 4 really fat people in the line up. They should just get given a vitamin pill and some running shoes.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
