Yeah I've already glued one, so that's no surprise. Sort that and they might last another 14 years!

No No 10 cents is good, people should stop using/saying 2 cents worth, that just doesn't make any sence no more. Eh?

Great writeup. A couple of comments:

Blardy hell. If you'd told me about that beforehand I might have been sufficiently motivated to find enough petrol money for the trip.

Clearly your detector is sulking due to the utterly hillbilly helmet warning system you fitted to it. I think pics of that are needed.

I was keen to pop up to Rahotu and pick up a card (so I felt like I was still participating in the 4 Pts... sort of) and meet the lads, but I had stuff to do first thing and couldn't get away at 8:30. So after studying Cowboyz' original trip plan I figured I could leave Palmy at 10:30am and still catch them in Rahotu. The plan was sound... except that they didn't stick to their original route. But I'd txted Yod that I was OTW, so they hung around in Rahotu until I pulled up about 1:30pm.

I apologise, I have been unclear.

It's a "helmet-mounted warning system" for the "radar detector" that is completely "hillbilly" in design and execution.

Dont work too hard. I still got another day and a half before hitting the grindstone. Life is hard.
At one stretch there above auckland I passed 70 cars in one move! The traffic was horrendeous! 99% of them were really well behaved. a few got a little upset with me but I didnt hang around to chat.

Already talk of returning to the east cape. Next time will be a more leisurely trip. I was going to stop on the next striaght but I just couldnt find one. Magic road.

Good to hear about the truck driver. Fingers crossed. It looked a real mess.
