Only 'Now' exists in reality.
So, righto, tell me what I need to do to get race-legal....And if you mention boots I shall visit and throttle you with my bare hands.
Only 'Now' exists in reality.

To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
get some oxtar boots, get that funky TCS system they have in 'em
Being a pit bitch for someone, entirely different to being on track.
From a marshall's perspective, I can tell you the thing we hate the most (and not trying to be nasty) is a "racer" who is noticeably slower than the rest of the field. Generally they react wrong when being lapped, and the speed differential can present safety problems (I think about it a lot more after last season at pukie)

I do believe you need a X (6 i think?) amount of race meetings to compete in the Street races or nationals.
VMCC winter series, is the best place for you to have a go in clubmans. However thats ages away.
Pacific Summer Series, what is coming up should be a great place for you too get some races under your belt.
Of course there is the 115% rule, to aviod people getting lapped millions of times. The pace is quite a bit faster from a fast group trackday too a race day, even in clubmans.
With the back straight, bit of a bastard for blue flagging... main thing is the speed differentials between the front runners and back markers.
Hardest part of marshalling is attempting to blue flag the middle of packs from each other. Pretty easy for front and rear, harder as it gets into the middle

Way hey hey!
You can't get into the street racing (Wangas and Pie Rower) without, I think, three club-level race meets completed beforehand. And I'm not sure whether Clubmans counts for those. And, let's face it, those street circuits are a bit fuckin scary and dangerous and are no place to start one's racing career as a newcomer.
What you're after, dpex, is Clubmans racing. If you want to do it at the Taupo track over this coming summer, Pacific Motorcycle Club are the guys to call.
I was hanging out by the fence and watching you ride in Group 3 yesterday, by the way - didn't get a chance to come up and chat in pit lane, but I did note that you were going well, looking smooth and relaxed.
I'd advise you to chill and stick to trackdays for the moment, though, do as many over summer as you can, and then if you're super keen to step up and race, and your lap times are realistically competitive, enter the Clubmans class in the 2009 Winter Series.
Edit: But make sure you're in Wanganui this coming Boxing Day. Just watch. You'll love it.

$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details
Now lets see. Did you learn anything from people that know a thing or two ?
Heres my take on racing ...get shit loads of money....fall off a lot....have a great pit crew that will take your vehicle and you back home when you splat....be prepared to see every hospital in NZ.
Have a go at Clubmans...then progress up before you decide on going any further. Walk before you run...track days vs racing are so far apart. Believe me...or not.

See, you guys can get stuff across to dpex.
Me - I'd rather be called parsimonious, pedantic and prosaic.

Can't wait for my first trackday...
He posts that he's going to go to a trackday and intentionally crash, and you're supportive.
He posts that he loved his first trackday and would like to learn more about how to get into casual bike racing, and you get all acerbic.
Don't you think that's kinda the wrong way round?
