A good one is down County Ave off Spa rd just after the bungy juming thing.

Ya drive to the end of County ave then get out and walk down the pat towards the river. You will see a little bridge. Its under there. All that water is nice and warm and it flows straight out into the river. You can also cross the bridge then walk up the little path and there are a few more little holes to sit in. See map.

I was in one that sold Speights some time back. Don't know the name but there is good parking close by.

There's a great Irish pub just off the main drag on the left had side up a side street heading towards the lake. Cant miss it, just look for the Guiness banners.

They do great food and nice pint of the black stuff as well. Sorry dude, cant remember the name. Mind you, the last time I got on the piss in Taupo I had trouble remembering my own name never mind one of the pub I was in.

    Enjoy the weekend man....

    You're in Taupo?

Fuck going to a pub! If it's a clear night, buy a bottle of vodka and a big jerry-can of water, strap them into a backpack, hike up Mt Tauhara with some appropriately warm gear and pass out on the summit under the stars.

Just thinking about it gives me little spine-tingles of awesomeness.

    Edit: Access location.

Haha, all very helpful tips up above

I live here... Not a whole lot of places to go but as mentioned above the Irish place is called Finn MacCuhals, best place in town IMO. The street that Finn's is on is known as "pub street" and yes... That really is it, Welcome to Taupo
If you're after dinner I've heard Breakers aren't too bad, but I can't say personally, never been there... 'Cause Burger Fuel is just around the corner towards the lake

Finn's have a map on their website: http://www.finns.co.nz/
