z1000 lean angles

I ride my R1 at reasonable speed on the track, yes I like to drag my knee through some corners, no I don't hang off the bike like an idiot just to get my knee down

I just wanted to know if I could get similar corner speed and angle on something like a z1000.... or if I'll be dragging pegs and generally anoying me!

you should take one for a test ride mate, best way to find out i spose cos it could depend on the suspension set ups and riders abilities if you go off someone elses word

Sorry my answer didn't answer the question you didn't ask. Yes the Z1000 has good ground clearance. I don't think it's as good as the R1 but then only a Sportbike would be. As the Z1000 is naked sports it's got a more comfortable riding position which generally means the pegs are lower. In this case not by much.

you will be dragging pegs easy on the track as they are (relative to sports bikes) low. Also suspention will be running further through their stroke as they are (again relatively) softly sprung, reducing ground clearance at speed when the suspension loads up.

You will peg out on the track. On the road you will be sweet (may touch done occasionly tho).

Done it many times with out even trying... doesn't bother me whether I do or don't... makes no difference getting round the corner...

The only time I worry about is when I don't have any sliders, done that once and it hurt like fuck, (I decided not to do that again)... and with the sliders its easier to do as your not putting the knee over as far before it hits the sliders

I'm thinking about going from my R1 to a z1000 and just wondered what people have experienced in terms of corner speed? I have owned a bandit before, so I know these are all very different bikes, but that's what I want, something different...

I can on my Honda Hornet (which is a similar bike) and not even blessed with Upside Down Forks. which would make all the difference.

Handlebars wanted to pull out of your hands and go to full lock at any corner at normal round town riding.

It could have been that particular bike, could have been tyre pressure, could have been any number of things - but I was turned right off. Couldn't be bothered trying to find another to ride.

What he said. We've got an '03 and a '04 in the family and neither have ever given any probs.
