Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this -

I can however offer a bed for any out of towners that wish to head off in the morning. I am on SH1 - approximately Mana roundabout location.

Then it appears we have a change of plan. I'll tell everyone who's put their hand up for the elephant pond that we're going to meet 12:30, leave 12:45 and go to Kari's instead. Hopefully they can then push their respective plans an hour or so further, take the bad news to employers etc. etc.

I'll put up a new map, directions etc. this evening. I'm at work now.

Kari has asked for donations to the Wellington Free Ambulance if people would like to do something. Filming the ride would be more than awesome!

done and done. can donations be made online? i will ask susan to film the ride if she can. not sure if the memory card will hold the whole trip, but should get most of it.

Kari has been up and talked to the Kindy, they are all sweet with lots of bikes. One o'clock is not going to interfere with anything up here at the top of the road. The neighbours are all aware of what has happened, it really wont be a problem coming up to the house.

the kids would likely get all excited and not be too bothered at all. ill be going to the kari's and going from there. bed has been arranged too. [thanks madmal!]

I'm currently in the process of extracting myself from work commitments. I'd like to take my bike. If I'm not at the Elephant Pond at 1:00pm, I'll be at the Whitby Baptist Church in the c.a.r.

Mrs H has to collect her mum at the airport at about the same time as the funeral, so won't be able to make it.

Do we need to or want to try and organise a ride that comes up from town, meets up a few places and then gets to the church at the right time?

I'm keen for this, we could meet somewhere (i would suggest lunch but i wont be able to eat much)

It sounds stupid and vaguely offensive to say it, but I will anyway. Please no stupid shit. No wheelstands, no speeding, no burnouts. If you have to do that sort of thing, some other day please.

I never even got to show him that I can do stoppies now...

Can I suggest that you log a job with the NZ Police and make them aware of your routes that you will be travelling. We did this for Derek Hill's Mem ride and it was a real bonus as we had so many motorcycles on the road. They were just awesome about the whole thing and assisted where they could. Just ring your local Police and they can enter a job into the system so all area stations can be aware.

We are hoping to get down from Palmy.

We did this for Derek Hill's Mem ride and it was a real bonus as we had so many motorcycles on the road. They were just awesome about the whole thing and assisted where they could. Just ring your local Police and they can enter a job into the system so all area stations can be aware.

thats a good idea. they may be able to help blocking side roads to prevent cars from intruding and breaking the line up.
a guard of honor at the church with the bikes sounds like a good idea as well.

Count me in for at least the Church service and procession from Whitby to the Airport. At this stage I plan on riding straight from Tawa to Church but if time permits might try to hook up with the group coming from Hutt as they arrive around Pauatahanui/the inlet.

Couldn't get them to help at the 2 Bruces in Lower Hutt. Or for Scott in Napier.
