Yes, get well quick Chaz. Was your sis the Doctor? And have you bought your lotto ticket yet!

The bend in question is about a click beyond the turn-off to the rubbish tip (heading south). A couple of us were spooked by it especially due to an oil drum sitting in the gutter on the entry (RH bend) so we were squeezed tight on the entry. The bend does tighten and the apex is very rutted - the sort of ruts produced by heavy vehicles.

(BTW - I was filling up with fuel afterwards back in Petone and a tow-truck pulled up beside me. The driver was heading out to Wainui to pick up the bike! )

No, but you did good at the scene.

Good clip there too Capt Andrey. Pity that truck obscures the view a bit.

    Right!!!!!
I'm going to be at the pond this week for a ride. Weather looks goods and I need a scoot like a p addict needs a fix. Far too much time spent working is making Mal a grumpy bugger.
So who's up for a tootle, maybe a ginger beer and a bite to eat and shoot the breeze?
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.

Is there any chance that this could be a pleasant ride instead of a tense an uneasy strop down the motorway at slightly illegal speed, followed by people flinging themselves through the twisties by nailing it down the straights and then nearly falling off because they're not carrying any corner speed? Any chance at all?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Well sounds like you & me will get on just fine. Mate I ride my own ride & Im not interested in removing all the chicken strips on a ride on a wednesday evening.
All I am looking for is a wind down for the day, a quiet ale (or ginger beer) and have chat with some like minded people. Maybe a chat about our mate we will be farewelling the next day.
All in the spirit the ride is intended to be.
