What are you on about? Its not that difficult so it probably comes down to peoples priorities and they are dirt bikes after all. I just wish they would clean them before they bring them into me, but couldn't care less if they show up to a trail ride with a dirty bike. Even if they come into me dirty its not that big a deal to spray a little dynamo on and squirt it off, no need for any special cleaners or lessons.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

My old man would kick my ass if the bike wasnt spotlessly cleaned after every ride, even the tyres! When its clean you can do all the maintenance required etc see if anything is broken. Id be embarrased to show up anywhere with a dirty bike...

As far as cleaners go, you might not need any special cleaners to clean it but if you want something to make cleaning easier and your bike to shine with minimal effort then id use a special cleaner designed for bikes.

Can anyone honestly say if they had a free bottle or box or however it come of dynamo and a free bottle of pro clean you wouldnt use the pro clean...? YEAH RIGHT

Off course I would try the Pro Clean if it was free. Always looking for better ways to do things. Do you have some free stuff you can send me? Didn't know it was going for free!
Dirt is dirt regardless of what its stuck too. So far Dynamo has been better and cheaper than any of the special truck washers etc that I have tried. In fact Dynamo and a hose do a better job than a water blaster.

Another tip for Dynamo users. Wet your goggles, spray Dynamo on lens foam etc, leave 10 mins then spray off with hose and leave hanging to drip dry for a streak free lens. No need to rub the lens with a brush or cloth, that will only give you scratches. Your lens will last you years using this technique.

I would if i could It would be fair comment to say it would be a price issue for you then rather then performance and fair enough cause it sounds like your having to wash other peoples bikes!

For me washing my pride and joy once a week on average its not that costly to use the right stuff as directed.

p.s you cant say its fact that a hose does a better job then a water blaster! I know they are not the best for bearings etc but id like to see you clean my bike after a wet race meeting at patetonga with a hose....

Go to a National MX round, those bikes are clean.

Yeah OK I'm lying to you.
No I'm generally not washing other peoples bikes, just their muddy forks and shocks before dismantling them.
Actually I've found a water blaster just seems to blow the crap around without removing it from the bike and takes a long time to get every nook and crany, not to mention forcing water into places I don't want it. I've used them in the past to remove some real sticky stuff before using a cleaner and a hose, but since I wore it out I haven't bothered to fix it. Water volume and a good cleaner brings MY bikes up way better. But who cares, you use what works best for you.

No price issue in using a half cap of Dynamo from the laundry. Like I said, I've tried other cleaners so it does come down to performance to me. I often need to wash bikes and gear two or three times a week so whatever does the best job fast suits me. I need to work for a living too so while the bike is sitting there with those hungry enzymes breaking down the dirt I continue working then hit it with the hose.

I even spray and hose my helmet, neck brace and boots in the stuff.

Never ridden Patetonga, but Danger will vouch that my bike gets dirty ( enough gets into the shocks ) & I've used water blaster, dairy shed hose & dynamo + garden hose. The best to get alot of dirt off is the dairy shed hose, but I'd take dynamo + garden hose over a water blaster for the rest personally.

Sure, but with sponsors etc they should be perfectly clean, the question is will your average trailrider see the value in the 2-4 hours required to really get a bike clean, can't see it myself as unlike National MX riders their sponsors ( partners / parents etcl ) don't get alot of return/visibility from that time/effort.

Yeah Takitimus suspension always comes in with dirt packed into places that surprises me even though the exterior surfaces are clean! He must really ride some gnarly bogs etc!

My choice is what I choose to do,
And if I'm causing no harm, it shouldn't bother you.

After being a lazy bum for years and stashing my xr in the shed bettween runs.. (no wash) Ive finally started taking pride in my recent crop of machines.

I now actually enjoy the 2 or so hours it takes to clean the bike properly and strip it down (clean airbox/filter, top of engine, inside frame etc).

Gives you a chance to see any hits she's taken etc. A bit of a relaxing ritual too. Just fuss over her

Dont even have to talk to her

    Dynamo is the shit!!
For REAL news (instead of that shit they spoonfeed you every day on TV) go to - http://www.openureyes.org.nz/blog/

id go along with that i dont allways use proper bike cleaner but i do like to have the ike nice and clean sure as hell didnt spend all that $$ to have it look all crappy covered in dirt. Leavin it on there just causes worn wear and tear better to clean it i say.

yeah theres nothing wrong with using a water blaster ...just depends on how you use it ive cleaned literaly 1000s of cars and bikes using a waterblaster and never had a problem ...NOW if you are using a really high pressure blaster 2000 psi or more then yeah i can see that if you were not careful you could run into trouble.
As for what to wash with i will probably leave dynamo
in the laundry where it belongs.. in saying that i will try it to see how it compares, as i best not judge it before i use it , as for what i use now on everyday stuff i use a degreaser $9 USUALLY MAKES UP 20 LITRES when the going gets really tuff i use pro clean

Waterblast, warm water with washing detergent and a cleaning mit, rinse off.

Then I lube then spray with SC1. The bike shines and smells like bubble gum.
