I would imagine some easties would meet up out... east... anyway. Especially if there are those who are not sure of the route.

May tag along, would be a good idea to set a final take off point for the ride (the BP on SH16 perhaps? Else just uni) After that nobody joins in...

I think he's talking about the one just before Kumeu which, if i remember correctly, would be better since it has a larger area to gather.

put the learners up the front behind the leader with experienced riders behind them, none of this leaving them at the back stuff. Oh and it might help if you all dont boost off as fast as you can when the group hits the motorway, stay as a group. Wish I wasn't working, would have loved to lend a hand keeping the idiots at bay. Ride safe, remember andrew no one gets left behind. my 2c.

    ciao

    yes and no

the problem is people are generally useless

as such, shell westgate has become a common meeting place purely because it is hard to miss - yet people still manage to fail it

however, in light of recent fuel mileage figures on the riffer, there will be a stop there for 98 octane

i would say to fill up before arrival, but last time i said that we had to wait 20 minutes for one guy to go fill up, and stopped three times for gas before leaving auckland anyway

SO, we stop by shell to collect those who don't want to waste time/petrol going to uni, then head to BP kumeu. there we gas up. there are no other gas stops on the route as we are not detouring via helensville. if we miss shell, we will have the latecomers playing one difficult game of catch-up, and make it more difficult for the shell people to arrive on time

at BP kumeu I will give the main briefing (mainly addressed at the learners) before we officially set off from there, rather than giving the thing twice. chain checks etc will be at uni/shell/motorway

or we let the idiots go up ahead and leave those who want to stay with/help the learners do so
