I know i've had a few back in the uk.
I ran a website,kr-1s.net so i'm pretty upto speed with whats what in kr land.
Problem is i cant find a bloody single one here in nz.
I could pick one up in the uk for around $2000 and pay to get it shipped or widen the search to OZ where i know there are a few knocking about but
I'd rather stick it out and find a good one at the right price here in nz.
cheers for the reply though i was begining to think my post had bombed.

We made up our own KR1SP's here in New Zealand for proddie racing back in '91'...much faster than a normal KR1S! 35mm carbs and reed blocks from the domestic only 'R' version...with 1.5mm shaved from the head...we raised the exhaust port by 1mm, and cleaned up the transfers. Things were great to ride albeit pretty peaky!!!

You only need a std KR1S mate...I'll tell you what to do from there!

I helped Mark Boyle build them (we ported 10 barrels each in a night), and I raced them. They were fucking weapons!

Feel free to email me if you'd like the fastest KR1S in the UK!

    Pete

cheers pete but i'm here in nz now, it might take a while but i'll be intouch.

Last year guy in the uk (mark jordan) took his kr to bonneville and set the 250 production record.
while there he met a kiwi who was doing the same thing, wasnt anyone from on here was it?
I know a couple of uk guys have fitted R6 shocks if thats any help.

    Kr1-s

The kiwi guy who rode a KR1-S at Bonniville is Eric Shepherd. He is a two stroke drag racing ledgend who now lives in Oamaru, he is the local weatherman or at least was.
Mark Jordans web site has a ton of detail about the KR1-S and includes fairly accurate data about the NZ sp models of which I had one from new. They were bloody fast.
I have a standard KR1_S foe sale if anyone is interested.
