ANd so actually run up enough k's to justify chain cleaning as well

I thought I was getting the best job done for my baby (the RS250...) too but i was completely wrong on that. Shit happens when you got two guys with the same name workin at the same place, and ones got wikid rep, and the others got shit rep. My bike landed with the dude with shit rep. Hence now my desire to get the basics self-doable. But think im gonna leave my level of service knowledge to chain cleaning, oil changes and air filter cleans...

Hey, you mentioned you were "takin it easy" back in one of the Sept Coro rides? Hey hope all these k's youv got now has you feeling aight riding!

I know the basics, checking chain, oil and tyres etc but very basics.
Yes, all my riding has been bloody brilliant... even had to fill my scottoiler! hehe. But it definitely has made me feel much more comfortable on my bike (although still have very little chicken strips... but have had comment from one bloke that he was impressed (since i was a girl))!

so this ride you've planned is around 600km or there abouts……

are there plenty of gas stations along the way to fill up in out there in the sticks.

oh and where were you all thinking of stopping for food? i dont know about the rest of you but riding for most of the day and only stopping for the best strawberry ice cream doesnt really sound to me as being enough food or nutrition to make the day enjoyable or are we eating only chicken strips (no fat jokes all you skinny buggers... my belly is all bought and paid for and took years to aquire)
    Come on, Toshi, come on!

Agreed... where are these stops going to be? I better not run out of petrol just because you buggers have bigger tanks or more fuel economy bikes... cause my bike its gorgeous to ride but needs petrol every 200km max (as we are doing twisties... so riding it hard will take more fuel!)
And also want to make sure there are food and drink stops to stay refreshed... don't want no silly business of having to cart someone home cause they crashed out due to fatigue!

Gas stops will be about every 100 - 120km. Will fill up gas at westgate before we leave(obviously), wellsford, dargaville, oponuni (or somewhere around there) then back in dargaville, and an wellsford again.

Ice cream is going to be in the morning very close to shell westgate after we leave. reason we are not meeting directly over ato the ice cream place is that almost noone knows where it is it (which is a shame).

Lunch is planned for Oponuni - there is a nice place with lots a bike parking that we have been at on other rides. You could also munch on some musli bard till we get there.

There must be some bored holidaying UofA B.Eng student willing to put one together for you on KB! (Maybe YOU are one?)

Aside from beer helmet-type device to drip-feed readymade coffee...am thinking exhaust pressure &heat to drive compressors (similar to turbo?) and heat water for freshly extracted espresso. but what do I know...I did a BCom!

And the muesli bar...Didnt some one on AUSMC chow down while knee down or something? Could be something to try before heading down the feeder mechanism...

great as long as i dont need to stay up all night on skype yet again then i'm in. if i'm up all night then i'll come along for most of it and drop off back to auckland when i start to feel shattered

is it the ice cream shop in kumeu just before the BP that your talking about? used to stop there and pick strawberries and eat ice cream often when i lived in waimauku... great ice cream indeed
