... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
I think there is also a difference between "performer" and "entertainer". My choices of Elton, Kylie and Michael most likely fall into the latter category.
And hey, I used to think Barry Manilow was pretty good (still have a couple of his songs on my ipod...)
funny how no one has mentioned Richard Clayderman, oh bugger, i just did.![]()
Okay, bands/performers not mentioned previously that IMHO deserve some praise...

If you appreciate great muscianship and don't care too much about exploding leprechauns and the assorted fireworks I'd have to say ToTo rates quite highly.
Too many bands out there I would love to see live...
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
Remember your humanity, and forget the rest. - Joseph Rotblat
one worth a mention, purely for his song's involvment with motorcycles, john kay and steppinwolf.(for all you youngstas, that's "born to be wild")
i can't get that song outta my head lately![]()
Another one-hit wonder band. Catapulted to "fame" per virtue of an unfortunate plane crash. Regrettably their one hit has been flogged to death ever since by radio station "music directors" devoid of imagination, who treat the egregious Steve Miller hit "Take the money and run" in the same manner. Please, make it stop.

Hang on a minute. Queen's final concert was at Knebworth on the Magic tour. I know 'cos I was there and it was after Wembley. I also saw the Newcastle concert in the company of some delighful young nurses.
For mine the thing that set Queen apart was Freddie Mercury. His (er) sensitivity to the crowd. They could switch the tone or feel of their songs in an instant to match the mood of the crowd. If you want an example of the perfect short set look at the Live Aid performance. IMO they owned the event.
