Fookin mint event, rain and all. Congrats to the winners, there was some very nice riding out there yesterday.
I think I had the best spectator seat in the house.

From where I was sitting Mr Random, you did a fantastic job. You started, stayed on and completed!
Well done to yourself and all the other competitors, it made the marshalling rather boring, but that's a good thing for the riders!
Hopefully next year will see a few more entrants...

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Haha, me and Sketchy Racer won. hahahaha. We had possibly one of the cheapest bikes in the field.
I still can't believe it, luckily I've taken the trophy home as a reality check that we did actually win it, and it wasn't in my imagination. Highlight of my racing career by far. I'm still doing air punches.
Was my first time racing on wet tyres, and it was very cool being able to get the knee down in the wet.
93 laps, and at the end of the 3 hours we were only about 20seconds ahead of Fitzgerald and Holmes in second.
I would have been over the moon with third place, and because of that I was conserving the wet tyres, I didn't realise they could actually last 3 hours. They felt as soft as chewing gum.
Yeah mate, those wets did the trick. They were worn in the middle to start with, but I babied them enough to get them through, and Sketchy shredded them in the last 45 minute stint.
Just have to brag, once figured out how to ride on the wets, I caught back up to Fitzgerald and managed to pass him when the track was at its wettest, and then cleared out.Sweet. Aquaplaning at 240 is a strange and exhilarating feeling.
And cheers to the other riders for getting in there and making this event go ahead. Endurance racing is important in rider development, and without all you other guys it would have been sad for it to not go ahead. i did my best to not rattle any of the slower guys because of this. Was very cautious and accommodating with my overtaking.
And JRandom, you and Paddy are hardcore. Doing it on the GSX1400 on DRY TYRES. Respect. That thing would have been a mission not to crash. Here's a shot of paddy tucked up all snug in our pit shed. The second one is of SteveB, he's very cute too. Don't you just want to eat him up? Respect also to matt Bleck, didn't realise that was you... the first superman.
Fook me, those tyres done good. I always liked the feeling that riding on those puppies gave me. Even though the front is the older style block pattern, it just seems to have awesome grip and a very solid feel. Can't wait to try out the Metzelers I've got now
I didn't realise that the endurance race was on the full track. Even better effort to beat Fitzgerald and co on their thou'
...
Congrats have to go to you too Uncle! First solo riderWhat a huge effort going at race pace in the wet for three friggen hours!!! You were awesome!
Huge congrats to Sketchy and vtec for winning this event! I knew you could do it Glen.
Well done Scrivy and Chris and all the crew for putting on perhaps the most fun event of the year! Hope there's another endurance race next year too.![]()
Yeah toast, they were only on the CBR600RR, but less power was advantageous, I think the guys on the thou that were in the running dropped it, cause they shredded their tyres too fast. I was busy short shifting to keep the power down, and when the track was drying i was using crap race lines to hunt down the puddles to keep the tyres cool. Looking at the tyres at the end of my stint I could have been rougher on the sides. If the weather was dry, there's no way we would have won.
