It's always easier if you open the door first.

Dont make a big deal out of it. Just come out with it and let that be the end of it.

Many years ago, a mate of mine had the same dilemma. His mom wasn't particularly religious, just really conservative. Anyway, after agonising over this for ages, he finally plucked up the courage, got her full attention (y'know, Mom, there's something I need to tell you...) and dropped the bombshell. Her response was "Is there any medication you can take for that?"

Odd how it wasn't that funny at the time.

Just tell them, I reckon there will be some shit, snot, and tears, but love will/should win out in the end. Anyway, better than pretending to be something you're not.... (Unless of course the religion in question involves burning gays at the stake. Then pretend to be mucho hetero )

    Oh, and happy 2009, all.

If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

Introduce the olds to your man.

Have him shake mums hand and give dad a deep tongue kiss.

Voila - they'll appreciate the gesture, AND work it out for themselves.
