So it's with gritted teeth that I have to admit he is doing what an effective protestor should do - hijacking a media event and drawing attention to an issue. The existence of this thread illustrates his effectiveness.
Despite your thoughts on Western media and the New Statesman report, my observation is that since about 1980 (post Camp David) the media have become very pro-Palestinian. Basically it's because they are the underdog and that always makes good press. Plus Israel has the support of the USA ergo: Israel must be really bad.
Lets be completely honest here about the weak and the strong. Israel is surrounded by Arab nations, all of whom until very recently, held official government policy to destroy the new State. Iran still holds that view. Tens of millions of Islamics believe this implicitly.
In 1948 the brand new state of Israel was attacked by the Arab armies who had 3 million soldiers at their command. Britain watched. America was too distant to help. Somehow - they had their backs to the wall and nothing to lose - the Israelis eventually won.
If the Palestinian cause was so just and simple, do you really imagine their semitic brothers wouldn't intervene? Not with guns but with money. 1% of the GDP of Saudi Arabia would solve the Palestinian woes for all time.

No, I think we should have more protests during tennis, then it might be worth watching.
Other than that, I think anyone who has the balls to stand up in thiere own any topic thats important should be commended irrespective if they are right or wrong, people that stand up and YELL about there beliefs should be encouraged. For example...the truckies, right or wrong they had the guts to protest.
