Manawatu weekend rides

no Takaka Hill unfortunately

we did consider a detour but ran out of time

here's a quick run down in no particular order:

queen charlotte drive
east coast to Kaikoura
inland road
lewis pass
springs to reefton
arthurs pass (twice for me)
haast pass (m & m only)
west coast (m & m did the whole thing, i did kumara north)
buller gorge
hope saddle
akaroa
lyttleton

nice. just got back from coffee with the m&ms and had a looksee through the photos. Nice photos in there. Expecting a full 10 page report very soon.

Jealous...... But then I did get to go to the track today so that cheered me up.....

Pretty wild ride that last bit! It was a shocker going though the gorge too, the wind died right away on the other side of the hill.

Did you get Buller gorge, buller gorge, buller gorge, buller gorge!! I think the first words out of Meanie's mouth when they turned up at Otaki was "Buller gorge".

Sounds a bit like were all gonna have to go and see what all the fuss is about.

Firkin magic. You know, I think I'll chuck in work and just ride full time. Wish bikes and petrol and tyres and insurance and taxes and all the rest of it were as free as dreams - sigh. Bet yr knackered

I did it at night in the rain, and it was still mindblowing. Must do it again.

youll be right. Its a bit nerve racking at the start of the day but by the time you get a few laps in it starts to come together.

Hope Saddle is the big fuck-off hill north of Murchison on the way to Nelson, so you probably have done it

BULLER GORGE!! first half was wet so I nana'd it a bit, 2nd half (east of Inangahua) was fookin glorious and there was nothing remotely resembling nana-ing going on
