IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!
Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!
Glad you are Ok Trace. Get well soon, and bike fixed pronto.
How did your gear hold up ?
yeah, all good, the parents are gonna come up with trailer to get her home... and we will see how long it takes to get insurance through, and how long it takes to get her fixed (and how long parts take to arrive)
Trust me, i don't want to ride anyone elses bike in the mean time!
Well as everyone has been telling me... had to happen at some stage, and at least i have walked (well limped) away from it!
Crap Trace![]()

ANSWER = ID RATHER BE RIDING!------------------------------------------------------
Don't think bike fixing is gonna happen "pronto" as you put it... so unlikely to be riding til next summer
just a tiny hole in elbow (but protection inside jacket did its job).
Gloves still all together so no damage there
helmet... lost the part that clips visor in, but doesn't look too damaged... but will still probably get a new one
pants.... well was only wearing jeans as only a 5 min ride to work... but decided to detour via bike shop, which resulted in riding motorbike.... woooops! but even they didn't rip through!

Hey man, if you want to learn off people you should have a talk to them so they at least know what your doing. Instead of people just thinking your being a pain. and like others have said, get hold of a mentor.
there were afew times when you passed me not long before the entry to a corner and then got off the gas, which could have caused some issues.
but we all live and learn.
people keep on saying you know who you were, but that leaves everyone guessing about whos been doing wrong. isnt it better to let them know for sure so they can learn what they need to change.
Well, and I said this once or three thousand time yesterday, you're in (mostly) one piece, so the rest is a case of insurance companies doing their thing.
No worries, I love hanging out in hospital waiting rooms, I seldom have had the opportunity after so few injuries growing up (TUI!). Seriously, I got to watch the biggest loser for an hour, plus I got give you shit (captive audience), I got to see some westie porn star wannabes, and we stood a good chance of catching Ebola from that Suicide Bomber looking guy.
GSXRTrace was responsible for a 9 kilometer queue along the southern motorway, good effort - those cagers deserved to sit and wait.
EDIT: I was thinking about the accident and how it went down from Trace's description, and also from a couple of other people. Tracey is a good, experienced rider who rides with confidence and caution. Sometimes there is just no escaping hitting the deck when there's so much shit happening. It's always an eye opener when someone experienced and good goes down.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
You the man for coming to the recsue Mike.
Glad Trace is ok, thats the important thing.
About the hospital - I'm sure if you wondered somewhere around the hospital , you would have found some StageCoach driver to keep you entertained
And about the cue , the bloody cagers deserve to be stuck in it for days for not opening their eyes to the two wheeled roaylties on our roads.
O and since you doing rescue missions I think it is appropriate we get you a syren and some red flashing lighs that you cant turn on when you riding to an emergency ...
...and we will get to follow your lines ...
Well done aging - everyone give MadBikeBoy a green rescue bling.
I only want to put bus drivers in hospital, not visit them... LOL!
As for blinging me, thanks - but keep in mind that this is a community, there have been people on this site who have come and gotten me when shit happens - when someone calls asking for help, you just have to go help them.
It was kind of funny parking Scoot at the front of police and transit vehicles, parking on the busiest stretch of motorway is kind of a one off experience (unless you cage that is). The transit guys were just awesome, wish we could send them some bling.

I just called the Auckland Regional Manager for Transit and had a chat about his guys at the accident yesterday - the Transit guys were just awesome, and he was really surprised and delighted to get a thank you call.
He's going to make sure the people who attended were looked after and thanked.
