I did read it, the judges comments were directed more towards the spitting incident than the resisting arrest and flinging cornflakes (wow she must be a cereal assaulter). Yes she broke the law in the resisting arrest but seriously who gave a if the copper got a bit of breaky on his shirt? Assault with a cereal weapon. Yep shes a real danger to society.

Agreed. An awful situation. Easy to be wise afterwards but if I was the sharemilker I'd have put a temporary netting fence around the house and electric wires around the pond.

Blaming the landowner is just a way of avoiding guilt. The farmer wanted to level out the section at the house before fencing, fair enough. Any responsible parent would have taken their own steps to protect their children in the meantime. Blaming other people really pisses me off.

The family repeatedly asked for the HOUSE to be fenced not the pond.
They being responsible parents tried to rectify the problem but the land owner refused to let them.
Yes he wanted to level the section but have you noticed the time frame at all he was in no hurry at all.

As I used to work in a position that I was constantly in contact with drug addicts and I have had more than my fair share of spittle cast my way. Also several feet, hands and even teeth.

The treehugger approach would surely be the one you advocate, that the cop should just wipe the spit off his face, pick up the plate make her another bowl of cereal while apologizing profusely for obstructing the flight of the original bowl. Hopefully he will learn to respect the sanctity of the criminals home and never again try and arrest someone who isn't keen on the idea.

I worked with drug addicted people coming off the methadone programme so yes I have seen my fair share of them if you are trying to imply something else then shut the fuck up or dry up.

My point was that the judges comments for being spat at is stupid plain and simple, yes it may be disgusting but he should have focussed on the fact that resisting an office in thier duty is not acceptable.

Personally I'm all for Capital/Corporal punishment and caning back in schools and people being responsible for their own actions.
Yes her actions led her to be prison, but seriously is that worth our tax payers money for a measly two weeks, two years might have been better, anyway wouldn't making her clean up after Llamas have been a little more ironic and cheaper.

Whilst I'm not the biggest fan the cops have, personally I think the sentence was more than fair - in these modern times spitting at someone can be just as dangerous as pointing a gun. What if, for instance she was an intravenous drug user (not improbable) and had HIV/AIDS? If that were the case that spit would be as lethal as a bullet if not more so.
Besides that.....it is bloody disgusting whoever it's aimed at.

The HI Virus is quite fragile,and does not survive well in saliva.
There has never been a documented instance of transmission via saliva.

You do not know me and do not know what my profession is was or will be in the future.
Yes I may be cavalier about spittle because that is all it is spit BIG FARKIN DEAL. Blood was more of a concern to us as was bein bitten, we all had to get shots for the usual diseases ie hep c, b etc as part of our contract ( them being the main concerns for workers dealing with anybody nearly these days).
