I plucked a stone from my tyre and it looks like this, Is it ok ?

    Hello

    I have a n00b question

See attached photo, I have removed a stone from in the tread, The stone dug its way in and had worn away at the grove on the tyre. This tyre has only gone 188km

Is this very common with stones that get in your tread ?, Is it reasonably safe ?

    Cheers in advance

That tyre is fine. The wear hasn't gone through to the belts, and still plenty of rubber, so no worries.
    Time to ride

Your tyre will be fine but we are interested in how the stone is doing - is it expected to make a full recovery?

If it was a piece of glass or metal it could have worked it's way through the rubber... It pays to frequently check your tyres for embedded bits and pull them out.

But yeah that should even out once the tyre gets up to temp a few times.

I remember my first... I bought my first bike off her... it had no pedals... it was a push bike.

Mmmmm yeah well my Ducati has been a bit of a push bike before now. I need one of those stickers "I'd rather push my Ducati than ride your Yamaha - er, oh look - I am!"
