Awesome report gijoe... Alan is certainly an interesting cat...sounds like you boys really had a blast!
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.

Nothing like a road trip to really get to know someone, eh Justin? In my case it was 2 months.
The thing is, you are both a bit strange (in the nicest possible way) - he's just closer to normal than you are.
Very well written BTW. I see you suppressed your wilder flights of fancy this time.

Well, my dear engineering-wandering friend, it was an eye-opener to me! My energy levels are probably enough for several people! I will actually do the SI again but in my own style, the gijoe1313 way!

I wonder what my wilder flights of fancy would get up to, being unfettered and away from any anchor-chain-ball dragging!

A ditty, an ode to a guy I know!

Gremlin is a swell guy, as swell as can be -
He zooms around on his katoom o'doom
chopping up grass, killing lichen and felling trees.

His black leathered attire, dressed to impress
in truth, he is humble, sugar and spice
But a nerd to the core, I do confess!

He rides his KTM hard to the core,
banking left, leaning right, forging ahead -
but waking up early is still such a chore!

The times he slows down is few and far between,
displays of riding prowess an ubermenschen zeitgeist,
his perchance for KTM mayhem has to be seen!

He said he wants to be incognito, not known well
but heck, gosh golly this cannot be kept secret
of his riding ability and legend I shall tell!

So one day if perhaps you hear something loud,
Its best to look in your mirror, go to the left
and there you will see Gremlin, doing KTM proud!

Eye for an eye, and the world goes blind... Well, stuff the world and all that, tis gijoe we really care about

I'm not going to spout on about his behaviour, we all know he's nutty. The lift doesn't reach the top floor, he's a few sandwiches short of a picnic, page short of a book (I steal this from karla), beer short of a sixpack.

Anyway, its not going to make him any more visible to the public than he already is... I LIKED my anonymity

Pic 1: noshing down on a pie... I won't number the pie, I don't have enough fingers for all the pies he ate, so a tally is impossible.

Pic 2: Scaring people... he did that a lot. This isn't a posed shot. He walked all the way around Pancake Rocks like this. Everyone looked at least twice at him

Pic 3: Child like antics... the scary part is, he put in a lot of effort for that shot. No, he isn't constipated... don't care either way

Pic 4: In between the complaining about lack of riding and blaming me for things, here he is, doing what he does best. This time the complaint is about how small he feels. (a likely story)

Its a little scary when photos appear on your camera, or you download a copy of his shots from his camera, to be on the safe side.

Nice way to find out that the guy you are spending 13 days with, in close quarters, has some secret crush on you, and photographs you while you are sleeping

And no, I didn't know the lady said I was cute... I was actually sleeping. I finished the backlog of work I had to do at 0030 on New Years Day. Packed until 0330, had a shower, breakfast, and left home at 0430. Rode 620km to Wellington, then Piecock hill, and napped for 20 min on the ferry.

Yes, I know, he rides a honda, I should have expected it, but those kb jokes are just jokes... yeh? no?

Pic 1: A sample of a pic I had no idea existed... until I saw it.

    Pic 2: Angel having fun

Pic 3: You might find this highly amusing... this was sorta the par for the course, I wasn't even surprised

Pic 4: At this point, I still didn't know pic 1 existed... how fitting... and tempting

    Pièce de résistance

Yes... I had to google how to spell the title, bar the flecks on the e's, I actually had it right anyway.

If you thought he was weird... you'd be right.

After being woken at some stupid hour on a monday morning (07 something) this weird creature proceeded to do some sort of weird dance. Having only just woken up, and now knowing about the existence of some of the sleeping shots, this sequence in pics 1-4 can only be described as disturbing.

Pic 5: The video is in the ride report thread, and disturbingly, its quieter than real life. As McJim zoomed in, gijoe became all camera shy, and shut up for possibly the first and only time while sleeping on the trip. Indeed, when reviewing the video, we couldn't hear the video sound over the real thing.

Now, don't be worried. This sleeping shot is only revenge for his actions. I'm only a part time honda rider, not a fully fledged homo.
