Cheers for the ride guys & gals.

Special thaks to Grahamemeboy for not trying to molest, or convert me.

Apologies to anyone that was upset by me overtaking them. In hindsight, maybe the ride should have been split into two groups at the beginning, with someone in the faster group who knew where to go at the lead?. BusaPete did a good job of this from Waiuku, maybe the first leg might not have been so tedious if this happened sooner?.

Dude, honestly you were keeping a good pace anyway from what i could see when I was following you to Kaukapakapa.

The only reason I went past you was to get a run on the twisties that were coming up, otherwise I would have hung there.

I dont think it was necessarily bad overtaking or anything like that (tho i didnt see it all of course), just a lot of people fresh to biking and not used to the big boys flyin past. We need to remember that new riders need a bit more room for their comfort bubble than those of us who have been on two wheels for a lot longer.

As for the groups, it was intended a a learner ride, and the numbers really ballooned on the original plans by the sound of it. I think separating the groups is a good idea where we have people who wanna go a bit faster, otherwise we have the problem of the fast guys out the front becoming the pointer, getting behind all the learner guys who are taking it easy (as they should ), and have to work their way back past them all again.
It's a tough one to know how to handle it... On one hand, you could say big boys piss off and find your own ride, but i dont think that's right, as it is great when you're starting out to meet people on bigger bikes who can give some wisdom and insight into this life of biking that we all love. Plus they realise you're not all as scary as ya look

Was me and toto behind you on the way up, the two white hornets fighting over TEC position

You're doing well on the ol GN mate, and seem to have good control of her. Once you start getting the pace up there you'll need to start looking at your lines a little more though. Sometimes i noticed you taking a corner like a car. Dont forget we have the whole width of the lane at our disposal on two wheels, and the more we utulise the easier it makes it to get round that corner (just dont run too wide )

And dont knock the GN too much, she's doing you well
They are an ideal learner bike in my opinion, and are great for teaching you the basics of bike control on a non-threatening platform. I think you'll find the hornet a good step up from the GN once you are ready (dont do it too soon though, the GN has much to teach), and the extra power is a welcome change once you have the skills to manage it

Certain things may or may not have happened
Lets just say that was the end of my stunting days on the GN, and it was around then i realised it was time to move on from the GN. My riding abilities were getting higher than what the GN could respond to, so i was starting to do silly things on it.
Think i chatted to you a little bit at waipu, but then i had a snooze in the sun... til someone pissed on me...
