    Motorad in Wellington

    Dear KB'r,
I presume this is the correct forum to start this thread.
I ordered and paid for a part 10th Dec from Motorad ($1450.00). Promised me it would be in Chch 2 days later. Next day they informed me stocktake error , none in country be here in 10 days. Nothing yet . Emailed them since new year no reply. Tried ph today, no answer 04 382 8011. Tonight left a msg on the mob for the bike they have on Tardme at the moment . Havent got back to me yet.
    Should I be concerned ?

    Luv Doc

Dealers are on the end of a supply chain that stars a bunch of sometimes inept and inefficient people called "local distributors". I am sure that there are many occasions when dealers would like nothing more than being able to source directly from the manufacturer.

Fair call though even more reason not to deal with stealerships methinks. These days theres not to many bits that cant be had for far less than the stealership will do it for though the $ not helping at the moment. In a lot of cases theres far better stuff available for less than they will sell you oem stuff for.

It's a two-edged sword. Everybody wants to have a friendly local dealership but nobody wants to pay more than they need to on the Interweb. Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.

Where will we buy our "new" bikes from if there are no dealers?

Point taken and agree,no idea really but not a concern for me personally as i prefer pointlessly throwing money at older bikes.Thats the kicker for me anyway, theres just so many sweet bits being made and obtainable via the interweb that new bikes dont really do it for me anymore, parking my latest n greatest in a sea of them so large that the only way to recognize it was via the number plate wore off awhile back.

Yeah but when 10 days turns to six weeks with not a murmer from the dealer? It's not a case of trying to get the part for less off the interweb. It was payed for and still not received.

Oooh you've just bought an Italian...get ready for some Character Building Hitcher.

Was quite happy to pay the price for an immediate solution to my problem. Was heading to the Sth KB'r do. Decided to cross the ditch, because fix was being shipped to Chch. Fark when they called and told me of the cockup, put a damper on the rest of the trip, waiting for problem to get worse.

One month later if it's not here, might just try for a refund and fix it myself.
