That was great fun. Loved the expert parts especially the boulder field and the big berms on other parts of the trail.
My noisey rm125 made it round! even with a blown rear shock and other stuff falling off.
    Thanks heaps epic.

Full credit to Lance on the rmz no 88(atomic) at the high jump for early showmanship. Bummer you and mike didn't make it to the last round.

No riding photos unfortunatley Kinda busy when those were happening. Wanted to get vids of river crossings on the sunday but my batteries died >_<
Had a great time. Sat was mint weather, great views. The sunday trail was def better, but I'd never ridden in mud before so it took a little while to get used to it. (not fall over all the time - I was a bit of a moving roadblock at the start, managed to get mysef run over ) The middle of the east track was my favourite, prob because it was less cut up due to people taking shortcuts. The mx track in the middle of nowhere was cool too. And the meals were yum, even for a vegie like me. Def be back next year, gotta show some of the bits I didn't do so well on what for! Good job epic events

Glad to hear you had a great time and your bike didn't give you grief.
I see Krad used his butt plug, I hope he remembered to remove it!

That mud was wicked and the massive grip on saturday was cool too but the dust is a wee bit cunty.

Friday night at Sunbeam motel was a good one, good company and plenty of drinking.
    Saturday
First loop attempted the 50km trail with Arven, Westie, and some others , got lost and went bush bashing, eventually found my way home.
Second loop, completed the 50km with Evil Twin, K6K and Arven.
Nervously lined up for the high jump, Arven was there to hold my hand and Westie and Neetz gave me the encouragment to not pull out! First jump was pathetic but luckily made it through, went big for the next round and flat landed, every round from here on in was the same, too big and overshot the landing, bottomed out suspension every time, made it to 4th man left and then got eliminated...I dont know how the others kept going, feels like my spine and neck are compressed, my wrists are stuffed and my feet are bruised.
Watched the enduro which was pretty cool, those guys have some serious skill!
We all opted out of riding sunday due to being worn out and crap weather, went to Taupo hot springs instead!

Good trails, good people, good food (Powder Horn Ohakune, $24 steak burger!), good weekend.

She didnt get to ride it, Taupo hot springs instead of riding seemed like the go on Sunday. Cheers though man, done my best but got pretty messy towards the end, I was sore as fuk from flat landing the high jump and my body was shutting down, wrists, neck, back all had enough! They needed to make the landing further out.

I came a door knocking Sunday but missed you guys, damn. Saw you disappearing all loaded up heading for home, next time is a must.
On Sunday I was one of the first out there and she was just like Riverhead on a good day. On my second lap the surface was mint especially with only about 3km of road as opposed to about 10-15k on Saturday. Still managed to take out a tree on one of those fast dark tracks through the trees full on. Tad lucky (tree hugger)

Bloody big weekend with 4 loops of the big track on Sat plus the 30k and 10k and then 2 big loops on Sunday.

I have a question for the organisers tho.

The weather forecast was for showers/rain on Sat evening and on Sunday. Why didn't they have swap the tracks around so that the west loop with all the roads in it was on Sunday. Wouldn't have had a dust problem then.!
